David J. Stuart
David maintains a general litigation practice with a focus on personal injury cases, including automobile accidents and slip and fall cases and business litigation. David also handles medical malpractice law suits against doctors, dentists, lawyers and other professionals.
David regularly appears in the British Columbia Supreme Court and has extensive experience before Juries. He is also experienced in mediation, both as counsel for clients, and as a mediator. David, originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba, obtained his law degree in 1968 at the University of Manitoba, and he then moved to Vancouver, where he served as counsel for B.C. Hydro for three years. He was a partner at Swinton & Company, (now Miller Thompson) for over 15 years, and served as managing partner there for three years.
After operating his own law firm, David J. Stuart & Associates, for many years, David became associate counsel at Kahn Zack Ehrlich Lithwick, in June, 2000.
David is past President of the British Columbia Trial Lawyers' Association, a past Governor for the American Trial Lawyers' Association, and has lectured on litigation-related topics for the Continuing Legal Education Society and the Trial Lawyers' Association of British Columbia. David was also an instructor in the para-legal insurance course at Capilano College for three years. David has written numerous articles for various legal publications and is frequently retained by a number of lawyers to act as counsel in various cases.
David is currently a member in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia, as well as being a member of the Trial Lawyers' Association of British Columbia.
